Entitlement relationships

The EMS v4 service stores the following information:

  • Products and subscriptions owned by the customers.
  • Licenses that are available to the customers and the devices / users to which the licenses are assigned.
  • Access periods, entitlement duration, and renewal status for each subscription.

The service exposes this information to products through APIs for license checks and tracking usage.

The following statements help illustrate the salient features of EMS v4:

  • A Feature represents monetizable functionality for the customers
  • A Service contains one or more features
  • A Feature can only be a member of one service
  • A Product is made up of one or more features
  • A Product can have features from more than one service
