Data Management at Trimble

Trimble’s central Hub (in a hub and spoke model) for enterprise Data Governance & Management, empowering Trimble with consistent standards and improved data outcomes.

Trimble’s Enterprise Data Warehouse houses Trimble enterprise datasets. In the EDW, data from various source systems is ingested via robust data pipelines and transformed into enterprise data products, often representing governed golden records that can be utilized by the enterprise—Trimble.

Trimble businesses and corporate functions have varying data skillsets. Trimble’s horizontal Data Operations team has provided support and development work in the BI/Data Engineering space across the organization for over two decades and continues to do so.

Trimble Data Catalog connects data producers with data consumers. Data Products can be listed with metadata, including name, description, data classification, data quality information, data schema, data content type, and more. This data is then searchable and informs the user who needs it about how to request it.

A data catalog serves the “discovery” aspect of a distributed data mesh strategy.

Trimble’s telemetry solutions provide common metrics and insights across the product landscape, enabling product teams to take data driven decisions and consistent executive and enterprise reporting.

Telemetry supports personalization and Product Led Growth (PLG) motions through a broader understanding of accounts, users, and product insights. Together, this supports the business with data-driven approaches to growth, retention, marketing, sales, customer success, and product delivery.
