Mandate 4: Product Capabilities as Platform Capabilities
All product teams must catalog and contribute their atomic functions and algorithms to the shared Trimble workflow platform.
Why? So that…
Section titled “Why? So that…”- Innovation is accelerated by allowing teams to reuse existing intellectual property (IP) rather than reinventing core algorithms.
- Niche market needs can be met by ISV partners using Trimble’s unique capabilities as building blocks.
- Agentic workflows can orchestrate complex tasks by tapping into a broad library of “Processing Framework Operations”.
- Data transformation (BIM, geospatial, etc.) is handled by standardized, high-performance transformers.
- Data transformation is extended beyond files to include underlying data objects and features, maximizing platform value.
What do I need to do?
Section titled “What do I need to do?”- Identify and list all capabilities that have value outside of the original application context.
- Contribute connectors or operations to the Trimble Workflows platform.
How this mandate is measured
Section titled “How this mandate is measured”- Has a product team identified their atomic capabilities that have value outside of the original application context?
- What # of those capabilities have been contributed as connectors or operations in the Trimble Workflows platform?
