Mandate 1: Common Data Definitions
Access to common data definitions are managed via the Trimble platform IAM services and surfaced through the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
Why? So that…
Section titled “Why? So that…”- Customer 360 views are accurate and based on the same common identifiers.
- Data silos are eliminated, ensuring information is complete, accurate, and timely for decision-making.
- Enterprise data domains are centrally governed.
- Analytics and AI have a “fit-for-purpose” foundation of enterprise data domains that is reliable and reusable, not bespoke.
What do I need to do?
Section titled “What do I need to do?”- Trimble ID is used as authentication for users, devices, and applications (including APIs).
- The following identifiers are used as the primary reference ids within your application:
- User - TID UUID
- Device - TID device id
- Application - TID client id
- Account - IAM account id (returned in the TID JWT)
- Organization - IAM organization id
- Analytics use cases that need to leverage enterprise data domains must subscribe to, and consume data products through the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
How this mandate is measured
Section titled “How this mandate is measured”- Are you using Trimble ID for User, Device, and Application (incl. API) authentication?
- Are your application’s core reference ids for Users, Devices, Applications, Accounts, and Organizations using the Trimble platform services as the source of record for these data domains?
- Are your analytics use cases consuming enterprise data domains from the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)?
