Features

• Custom Kube-Scheduler specification for Prognosticator: Enhanced job specification flexibility for both Windows and Linux engines using bin-packing for compute usage optimization.

• EKS Karpenter Upgrade: Major version upgrade of Karpenter to 1.0.1 for EKS.

• Terraform Disaster Recovery and updates to Prognosticator Helm for unused ReplicaSet cleanup.

• Prognosticator Configuration for Azure Australia: Prognosticator helm config for Australia has been created, expanding the service’s geographical availability. This is currently disabled for cost optimization purposes.

Bug Fixes:

• Terraform Configuration for Windows Node Password: Fixed an issue in Terraform where a data object referencing a non-existent Key Vault secret caused initial apply failures. The process now correctly defines the Key Vault secret during Terraform apply.

• Prognosticator Configurations Updated for New Region Roles: Updated Prognosticator configurations to use new Azure region roles, ensuring correct role assignments across different environments and disaster recovery scenarios.

• AWS Resource Tagging Standardization: Ensured all AWS resources created via Terraform and CloudFormation are tagged with ‘product: processing’, improving resource management and cost tracking.

• Azure Secrets Rotation Process: Implemented a process for rotating Azure secrets, including storing new secrets in KeyVaults and updating configurations without service disruption.

• Unused ReplicaSet Cleanup in Prognosticator Helm: Updated Prognosticator Helm to clean up unused ReplicaSets after upgrades, maintaining a tidy and efficient deployment environment.

• Karpenter Scaling-in Nodes Optimization: Updated Karpenter configuration to allow for more efficient scaling-in of nodes, reducing resource wastage and improving system performance.
