Production release: 16 December 2024

This release introduces changes to the Azure Outbound Processor to improve handling of failed message processing tasks. Messages with failed tasks will now be sent to a Dead Letter Queue (DLQ) for later processing.

  • Improved Failure Handling: Failures during message processing are now captured and associated with specific tasks within the message. This allows for targeted reprocessing of only the failed tasks.
  • DLQ for Failed Tasks: Messages with one or more failed tasks are published to a DLQ. This enables separate processing of failed tasks without affecting successful ones.
  • Task Tracking: A TaskList is introduced within each message to track the processing status of individual tasks (IoTHub Publish, CosmosDbUpdate, EventHubPublish).
  • Selective Processing: The processor now only executes tasks listed in the TaskList for each message. This ensures that only failed tasks are retried during DLQ processing.
